Eli Manning couldn't make it to his brother's retirement press conference, but he had a pretty good excuse.
The NFL lost an all-time great today with the retirement of Peyton Manning. It's a move that struck close to home for the New York Giants and quarterback Eli Manning.
When Peyton announced that his press conference Monday afternoon would be to formally announce his retirement from the NFL, he didn't expect for Eli to be in Denver. Eli, however, planned to surprise his brother by showing up unannounced. Unfortunately for both Manning brothers, that didn't happen.
Instead, Eli -- perhaps not unsurprisingly, being a father to young children -- came down with a Stomach Flu and was unable to make his flight.
