At least, that is what current NFLPA records show
The NFLPA web site shows the Giants with only $4.415 million in cap space, among the lowest totals in the league. That appears to include the D.J. Fluker signing, with a $1.5 million base salary for 2017, but not the re-signing of John Jerry.
Over the Cap shows the Giants with $5.742 million, a total that does not include the signings of Fluker, Jerry or Orleans Darkwa.
OTC does have details on the Rhett Ellison signing, with Ellison getting $8 million guaranteed, including a $5 million signing bonus. His base salary for 2017 is $975,000, with a cap hit of $2.25 million. Here’s the Ellison contract.
What we do not know yet is what the Giants might have done with the contracts of players like Dwayne Harris or Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie to try and free up additional cap space. If they haven’t yet made any moves to clear more space, it’s apparent they will have to do so at some point.
