Players to add for a run at winning your league
Fantasy football playoffs are here! If you are lucky enough to have moved on to the next round, congratulations! If not, then there is always next year. Of course the wait will be unbearable but if you are lucky to still be seeing some action, then here are some pickups who can win you the championship.
Bilal Powell (46 percent owned — Yahoo)
Matt Forte might or might not have a serious injury, but Powell is a must add regardless. After a monster game against the San Francisco 49ers with 145 yards and two touchdowns, Powell could be that running back you need. He holds more appeal in PPR formats where his pass catching has been consistent all season.
Kenneth Farrow (2 percent owned)
The amazing Melvin Gordon was carted off the field on Sunday, it might be the understudy’s time to shine. He won’t replace Gordon completely but at this point everyone has depth issues at running back. He played fairly well in Gordon’s absence and is worth a shot if your RB2 or FLEX positions are weak.
Adrian Peterson (45 percent owned)
He wants to return this week against the Indianapolis Colts and the Minnesota Vikings desperately need a boost to their offense. Starting AP might be a risk given how ineffective he was early this season but he’s that high-risk, high-reward play that makes fantasy football so amazing.
Taylor Gabriel (46 percent owned)
Gabriel has been mentioned here before but he’s still owned in less than half of fantasy leagues out there. He’s been producing no matter whether he’s alongside Julio Jones or when he has been out. The Atlanta Falcons offense has been crazy good this season and Gabriel is proving to be a consistent contributor.
Ty Montgomery (36 percent owned)
A waiver wire darling weeks ago, Montgomery lost his shine when the Green Bay Packers offense was struggling. Now that they are turning it up a notch. Montgomery has been seeing a lot of touches and has been effective. A lot of owners gave up on him but he may have that upside to get you through the playoffs.
Cameron Meredith (36 percent owned)
Even though Alshon Jeffrey is slated to return, Meredith is that second weapon the Chicago Bears need. Meredith had a solid outing last Sunday with 19 points in PPR leagues and should continue to see volume in an offense that is lacking talent.
