One of Allen Iverson’s iconic on-court sneakers that debuted in 1996, the Reebok Question Mid, in its Unworn colorway, is finally releasing this month in celebration of the silhouette’s 20th anniversary.
The footwear brand will debut twenty different iterations throughout the year to commemorate the shoe and this particular pair is modeled after a colorway from 2000, that was originally set to be worn by Allen Iverson in February 2000 during the annual exhibition basketball game that took place in Oakland, CA.
At that time, the colorway was deemed too vibrant, as no one was yet wearing vividly-colored sneakers in the game. After a few discussions, Iverson ultimately opted not to wear them and this colorway never saw the light of day, thus essentially marking its distinctive moniker.
Flaunting a navy blue nubuck toe, the majority of its upper is rendered in yellow leather, while resting atop a clean white midsole unit and translucent blue outsole. Finishing elements include branding and Iverson’s iconic jersey number 3 on the heel.
You can purchase a pair at select Reebok accounts starting next Saturday, February 20th for $140.
A.I. was one of my favorite NBA players to watch and his sneakers were actually my first pair of bball kicks. Thanks to Marshalls for that discount, haha. I’ve always liked this silhouette and I’m happy to see this pair finally releasing to the public.
