Buy, Pass, Wait: Nike Air Foamposite One University Blue, Air Jordan 2 Alternate 87

In this week’s edition of Buy, Pass, Wait, the KoF Staff (well, whatever is left of it apparently…) gives us their thoughts on the calm before the storm as we get ready for the madness of NBA All-Star Weekend. Not that this Saturday is going to be any slouch as we’ve got a new pair of Foams, more Jordan retros and a pair of Currys dropping for sneakerheads to blow their cash on. And since we’re short-staffed this week, we asked our @kicksonfire followers to join and let us know what they think by voting via Twitter polls.

Juan Martinez, Editor-In-Chief: (WAIT) With the Northern Lights Foamposites also dropping soon, this might get lost in the shuffle so I don’t necessarily feel the need to get them right away, even though I love the way the lighter shade of blue looks.

Todd Krevanchi, Features: (PASS) Foamposites aren’t in my wheelhouse. They never have been. It’s just not a silhouette which I think I’d look good in. I like the color though…

Renz Ofiaza, News: (PASS) I am a fan of the silhouette, but not particularly in this shade. It’s pretty appealing so it should still garner quite some attention for fans of the sneaker.

Air Jordan 2 Alternate 87

EIC Juan: (PASS) I can see the thinking behind the shoe but I just can’t imagine this would have been a colorway Nike puts out either at retail or just a special make for MJ to wear. Plus, I’m not a fan of the 2s so this is a very easy pass for me.

Todd: (WAIT) I think this is one of those shoes which will sit. I do like the colorway in the sense that, if they would have released a black colorway in 1986, this would have been close to what they would have offered (I still think there would have been a white midsole though).

Renz: (BUY) The color combo is classic and already appealing, so it received a lot of positive reactions. I like the silhouette in general, so it’s a definite winner in my view.

Air Jordan 1 KO Shadow

EIC Juan: (PASS) I didn’t really care for the Shadow colorway that much and bringing them out in what I feel in a “lesser” form really doesn’t interest me. It should be a brisk seller for fans of the 1 and the KO definitely has a cult following, so if you’re interested, waiting might not be in your best interest.

Todd: (BUY) I love the Air Jordan I silhouette and I’m a really big fan of the AJKOs. Always have been. Something about the canvas. Now if they’d come with an all white AJKO 2.

Renz: (PASS) I’ll always admire the AJ1 but not that much in this specific makeup. The finish is versatile and clean, but I’d prefer its original build instead. It’s a still a solid offering nonetheless.

Under Armour Curry Two Elite (Under Armour)

EIC Juan: (BUY/WAIT) I’m a noted sucker for black, gold and white colorways but my taste for Currys in that style has been satisfied by the both the MVP Curry One and Curry One Low for now. I’ll probably buy the BHM colorway this weekend because I love the color scheme and I can see it not staying on shelves too long because it stands out from all of the other Curry Twos we’ve seen so far.

Todd: (PASS) I’ve said before that I’m not really a fan of high top hoop shoes. If this was a mid or low, I’d reconsider because I really like the colorway.

Renz: (BUY) A couple of the best colorways on the silhouette so far in my view. They’re appealing and I’m slowly becoming more of a fan of the sneaker as well.

What All-Star Weekend Kicks Are You Looking Forward To?

EIC Juan: The Kobe Air Jordan PE Pack That May Or May Not Happen

Air Jordan 3 Kobe PE

At this point, I’m guessing this supposed pack featuring Kobe Bryant’s Air Jordan player exclusives won’t happen, but if it does, I’m all in. I don’t care about the 8s, but I do love the 3s so if I do happen to luck out and buy a pack, the former will be unloaded rather quickly…

Todd: I’m not. The All Star Weekend shoes are becoming way too over the top for me and my tastes. Outlandish colorways aren’t really my cup of tea. I’ve always been a white base with accenting colors kind of guy. Is it nice to see what the guys wear? Yep, but I haven’t wanted to buy any of them in years.

Renz: Air Jordan 10 OVO Black

I’m just biased towards the makeup and colorway. It doesn’t matter to me that it’s a Drake collaboration, but it’s a sweet plus due to it being a little more exclusive.
