That was a major reach and he was an awful pro. He was gone from SF after one season and only caught 17 passes in his short career. He makes DGB look like Canton material. In the 2nd round, the Niners took LaMichael James, the small RB from Oregon. He ran for 193 yards over the course of four years. The 2013 showed some hubris by taking major chances on hurt players. Tank Carradine had 1st round talent, but SF got him in the 2nd because of his injury. He has stayed somewhat healthy in the NFL, but only has 5.5 sacks in four years. RB Marcus Lattimore, a 4th round pick, never played a down in the NFL. Good teams must draft well to stay good.

I view a trade out of the first round as the most likely scenario for the Eagles Thursday night. The logic is simple: They enter with a league-low six picks, don’t have any selections in the second or third round, and can add to their stockpile by moving back a few spots while still landing a desirable player. There’s behind-the-scenes buzz about the team making a move, and executive vice president of football operations Howie Roseman declared the Eagles are “open for business” when asked about trading back last week.

We’ll have to wait a little longer for the next bit of news in the Michael Bennett case. While Monday was originally supposed to be a preliminary hearing date for the felony injury to the elderly charge against Bennett, court records show the date has been pushed back. Earlier this month, the arraignment date was rescheduled for May 18 at 9:30 a.m. That new arraignment date will be creeping close to the start of OTAs for the Eagles. OTAs are scheduled to begin on May 22. (May 22-24, May 31-June 1, June 4-7). Bennett was acquired in a trade with the Seahawks this offseason, so this would be his first chance to practice with his new teammates and in a new defense.

He can stay in phase when covering down the field and he has the ball skills to create turnovers, though he must cut down on the big plays and ugly snaps in coverage that hurt his overall production.

He’s a smooth pass protector who will help keep Carson Wentz upright for the next decade so Kelce doesn’t have to.

BackCAST 2018 - Football Outsiders
Nick Chubb and Sony Michel shared the same backfield at the University of Georgia, and so it makes sense to consider the two running backs together. Pre-draft prognosticators seem to value Michel over Chubb. BackCAST, however, thinks that Chubb is a far superior prospect, as he outperformed Michel in all of BackCAST’s metrics.

Statistically, Eli Manning was awful in 2017. His 61.6 completion percentage was his worst since 2013. His 3,468 passing yards his lowest since 2008. His 19 touchdown passes marked only the second time in his career as a full-time starter he didn’t reach, though of course he sat out one game last season. His 6.1 yards gained per passing attempt marked a career low. His 231.2 passing yards per game were Manning’s worst since 2008. His 80.4 passer rating was his worst since 2007. His 41.7 passer rating was also a career low. Ugly.

32. Sony Michel, RB, Georgia. Everyone is searching for this year’s version of Alvin Kamara, and it just might be Michel. He’s a slippery and agile runner who has the acceleration to burst away from defenders. Like Kamara, Michel is also effective in the passing game. He may have only had seven receptions last season but in the past he’s shown he can be an asset as a receiver. Michel even worked out as a receiver at the NFL Scouting Combine this year. Michel is a much better blocker than most running back prospects and he always gives good effort. Purely as a runner, Michel needs to be a little more patient and wait for blocks to open up. He’s also had issues fumbling the ball.
