Eagles-Raiders Final Injury Report: Three starters ruled questionable

Final Injury update.

The Philadelphia Eagles released their third and final official Injury Report on Saturday in advance of their Week 16 game against the Oakland Raiders.

Three Eagles starters have been ruled questionable: cornerback Jalen Mills, linebacker Mychal Kendricks, and left guard Stefen Wisniewski.

Mills sat out of practice on Thursday and was limited on Friday before being a full participant in Saturday’s practice. On Friday, Mills said he was feeling good. On Saturday, Doug Pederson said: “Jalen is doing fine. The added rest or extra rest this week has really helped him.” It sounds like Mills has a shot to play. If not, Jaylen Watkins or Rasul Douglas could start on the outside in his place.

Kendricks was limited on Thursday before being a full participant during practices on Friday and Saturday. The Eagles are thin at linebacker, so it’d be bad if he can’t play.

Wisniewski was limited in practice all week. It seems like the Eagles don’t want to force him back too soon, especially with Chance Warmack holding his own while starting last week.

Derek Barnett, Patrick Robinson, and Warmack are all ready to play after being listed on the injury report this week.

In the event that the Eagles clinch the No. 1 seed before Monday night (in the form of the Vikings losing to the Packers), it’s possible the Eagles could take a conservative approach with some of these injured guys and rest them.

Here’s what Doug Pederson had to say about the possibility of resting players during his press conference on Saturday.

Q. Tonight's game between the Green Bay Packers and the Minnesota Vikings is relatively important for you guys. Is there a dual plan from a player-management standpoint depending on the result of the game tonight?

DOUG PEDERSON: No.

Q. What is your plan for usage on Monday night if it's not contingent on tonight? Do you have Plan A and Plan B? What is Plan A?

DOUG PEDERSON: To win the game.

Q. To play your best players?

DOUG PEDERSON: Play our best players and win. I think it's important that they continue to play. If we're in that position, if we're fortunate enough to be in that position, to rest, I'll make a decision at that time. But I think it's important here in these next couple of games that we continue to play.

Q. Even if Dallas is meaningless even for Dallas, you envision starting the starters and playing them until the game is not in question?

DOUG PEDERSON: I'll make that decision if we're there. Right now, because that's Week 17, you don't play for a couple of weeks, I think it's important to maintain the edge, maintain the aggressiveness. If it's one play, one series, one quarter, I'll make that decision at that time.

Cornerback Dexter McDonald was added to the Raiders’ injury report on Saturday. He suffered a leg injury during practice. McDonald has played the third most snaps of any Oakland corner this season (52.3%). If he can’t play, the Raiders will be down to only three healthy corners.
