Jeremy Maclin, Ravens agree to terms on contract

Reunited with Marty.

UPDATE: Jeremy Maclin’s decision reportedly came down to the Eagles and Ravens. Original story below.

Jeremy Maclin and the Baltimore Ravens have agreed to terms on a two-year contract, according to a report from NFL insider Adam Schefter.

Maclin spent time visiting the Buffalo Bills and Ravens last week after being released by the Kansas City Chiefs. In Baltimore, Maclin will be reunited with a familiar face. Ravens offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg held the same position in Philadelphia when Maclin was on the Eagles.

There was some talk the Eagles had interest in bringing Maclin back to Philadelphia but that turned out to be fake news (or not?). Doug Pederson shot down the Maclin rumors during his press conference last week. He went on to explain that he likes the group of wide receivers the Eagles have right now.

“Love the guys that we have,” said the Eagles’ head coach. “Listen, we’re always constantly looking and obviously trying to better our roster at every position. But at this time, I’m very pleased with what we’re working with and what we have. We have some young talent with this group playing extremely well.”

“Going forward, next week [at mandatory minicamp] and on to [training] camp, that’s what I’m trying to see, is where our young guys are and how well they can handle sort of the workload with what we’re trying to do offensively and our passing game.”

In any case, it’s nice to see Maclin has a job again. He’s a good player and a good dude. All the best to him in Baltimore.
