The Belgian FA have confirmed that the Ankle Injury Romelu Lukaku suffered in Manchester United training is not serious.

Lukaku featured for United against Crystal Palace at the weekend despite sustaining a knock to his ankle in training.

The striker travelled with Belgium for international duty following the game, but is not expected to feature heavily against either Bosnia or Cyprus, with his country already qualified for the 2018 World Cup.

The Belgian FA confirmed that the striker underwent a scan on the Injury on Monday, but initial fears of a long-term injury were wide of the mark.

“Romelu Lukaku underwent an MRI scan, but no fracture or structural damage has been diagnosed,” said an official statement.

“The next days he will follow an individual training program.

“It is however too early to state that he won’t be match fit for the Bosnia and/or Cyprus game.”
