Jose Mourinho feels that his Manchester United is the subject of some sort of football conspiracy.

The Red Devils got through their Europa League Round of 16 second leg against Rostov with a hard-fought 1-0 victory at Old Trafford tonight.

United had to play Chelsea in the FA Cup quarter-final on Monday night and next face Middlesbrough at midday on Sunday in the Premier League, prompting Mourinho to suggest the club has many enemies.

Presumably the comments are a nod to his side’s cluttered fixture list as Mourinho continues to go on the defensive with a siege mentality mindset.

“We have Lots of enemies,” he said

“Normally the enemy should be Rostov, but we have lots of enemies. It’s difficult to play Monday night, it’s difficult to play now, and it’s difficult to play Sunday at 12 o’clock.

“We have lots of enemies.

“The boys were excellent, some people saying we should pay better and score more goals, and why we have difficulties to beat these opponents.

“We have lots of things going against us, we have to fight, they are amazing boys and probably we lose on Sunday, but we will try our best.”
