Even after Russell Westbrook came out and said that he doesn't want to play for a new team the reports are still out and about. The most recent report is that the Nuggets might be able to make a trade for Thunder star Russell Westbrook.
It was reported by sports rageous earlier today. The deal would send Westbrook to Denver and in exchange the Oklahoma City Thunder would get Kenneth Faried and Emmanuel Mudiay. The Nuggets are in a rebuild mode right now and want to rebuild the team around a guy like Russell Westbrook.
Some reports said that Westbrook, Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic could be somewhat of a big three. In the long run, Westbrook to the Nuggets could make Denver are contender in the Western conference.
My Opinion: Being a huge OKC fan, I have a very strong opinion on this type of trade. For starters, I feel it would be a bad move for both sides. The Nuggets would be giving up two young emerging stars for a 27 year old point guard. I am 110% aware of how good Westbrook is but you are being counterproductive if you are trying to rebuild your team. The Thunder however would be taking a bad trade if they ever accepted such a trade. Who knows how good Mudiay will be and Faried has proven to be just a stat stuffer. Plus I bet Westbrook would rather stay in OKC and sign an extension than be shipped off to Denver. Please subscribe to the blog and leave us a like.
