It seemed just yesterday reports popped up that Terry Pegula gave Doug Whaley and Rex Ryan a one-year ultimatum to fix the Bills or they’d be fired.

Whaley has been the Bills GM since 2013, and will at least for now, be remembered for drafting EJ Manuel and trading up in the first to grab Sammy Watkins.
While those picks are certainly questionable, Whaley has had more than his fair share of good moments as the Bills GM. He drafted Ronald Darby, Karlos Williams and brought in the likes of Tyrod Taylor, Richie Incognito and Charles Clay. Many will say Clay was overpaid, and that’s certainly true, he’s the best tight end the Bills have had in years.
So, at least for now, it looks like Doug Whaley’s job is safe. It remains to be seen what will happen if the Bills once again fail to make the playoffs.
