Auburn got a big boost as Isaac Okoro returned from injury after missing the previous 3 games, a stretch that saw Auburn’s hopes of winning the SEC Regular Season Championship all but disappear.

But Okoro’s return was huge as the Tigers played Ole Miss before a rematch with Kentucky in Lexington in the next game.

Auburn’s first 8 points came in the paint courtesy of Danjel Purifoy and Austin Wiley, who had 4 apiece early. The Tigers would once again get a spark off the bench as Devan Cambridge knocked down the first 3 of the evening and Jaylin Williams had a pair of baskets including a putback dunk. Samir Doughty’s first 3 of the night gave Auburn a 21-11 lead midway through the 1st half.

Auburn’s 10-0 run would conclude on a nice alley-oop to Williams who finished with a two hand slam.

One of the flashiest plays of the night came from Williams but this time, he was on the giving end. The dunk from McLemore gave Auburn a 31-21 lead with a little under 3 minutes left in the half.

Auburn led 31-24 at halftime.

Auburn’s lead was pretty constant at around 4-8 points through most of the 2nd half. Ole Miss got within 2 once, 41-39, with 10 minutes to go but Auburn responded with a 6-0 run to retake an 8-point lead.

Austin Wiley was huge in the paint in this contest as Auburn went inside quite often against this Ole Miss team. They only attempted 14 3s in this contest which for an Auburn team is pretty unheard of in this day and age.

Auburn led by 12 with about 5 12 minutes to after a steal and dunk followed by a 3-pointer from Devan Cambridge. Ole Miss would get within 4 in the final few minutes but a Wiley slam with 1:55 left put Auburn up 61-54. From there, the Tigers took care of business from the free throw line to win a low scoring contest.

Austin Wiley had another double-double, 15 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Tigers. Samir Doughty scored 14 points and Isaac Okoro scored 10 points in his return to the lineup.

Devan Cambridge had 8 points and J’Von McCormick, Danjel Purifoy and Jaylin Williams each had 6 points.

Here are the highlights!
