Now, almost one year to the day that Smart Bat was released, the cutting-edge smart bat design that incorporates Diamond Kinetics’ SwingTracker software platform into a single, all-encompassing piece of ‘smart’ equipment, has been approved by Major League Baseball for use in ‘rookie ball’ minor leagues such as the Arizona Fall League and Florida Gulf Coast League for the 2018 season.
This rule change comes on the heels of swift technological changes and adoption at both the minor league, NCAA and amateur levels, with the implementation of smart-enabled bats signifying a huge step forward for smart equipment use and adoption at all levels of baseball.
