PONY Baseball & Softball Partners with Diamond Kinetics To Bring Cutting-Edge Motion Technology To PONY Players, Parents & Tournaments

PITTSBURGH/WASHINGTON, Pa

As the motion technology partner of PONY, Diamond Kinetics’ SwingTracker will be the exclusive batting motion/swing sensor of PONY, giving over 500,000 players on 28,000 teams in over 4,000 leagues across the United States and over 40 countries worldwide access to the best technology available in Baseball and softball today.

PONY and Diamond Kinetics began setting the seeds for its partnership in 2015 at the Pony League World Series​ in Washington, Pa. Each PLWS Home Run Derby participant utilized Diamond Kinetics’ SwingTracker technology during the contest and were able to see how such metrics as Max Barrel Speed, Impact Momentum and Approach Angle related directly to hitting home runs.

Diamond Kinetics also took part in PLWS pre-tournament and in-tournament festivities with the ‘Diamond Kinetics Experience’ in 2017, allowing every player & parent the opportunity to use and get a first-hand look at SwingTracker, as well as many other cutting-edge DK-related tools and technology.

Keeping with this spirit, PONY has amended and approved both baseball and softball league and tournament rules to allow in-game use of Diamond Kinetics’ SwingTracker sensors mounted internally in-bat and externally on-bat. The softball rules go into effect this year, while the baseball rules to go into effect January 1, 2019.

Furthermore, Diamond Kinetics’ soon-to-be-released PitchTracker and ‘Smart’ baseball will be the exclusive pitching/throwing motion technology of PONY, bringing such cutting-edge metrics and data as velocity, spin rate and pitch charting to PONY players and parents.
