Indonesia; three Nigerians and one Indonesian citizens have been executed by the firing squad in Indonesia for being involved in drug smuggling according to the news. However about ten criminals who also had been sentenced to death have been stopped to execute by a stay order.
International organizations of human rights including Amnesty International have strongly condemned the Death penalties given by the government calling it a inhuman punishment and called it as a “deplorable act” that violated local and international law.
Indonesia’s Deputy Attorney-General Noor Rachmad said in an statement that it was “not a pleasant thing but it was to implement the law”.
“The executions are only aimed at halting Drug crimes,” he said, adding that the rest “will be carried out in stages”.
Indonesia is one of the countries where Drug Supply is one of the toughest crime and punishment for that is death. Remember that in April 2015 government executed 14 people for being involved in drug supply and it was greatly condemned by the international community.
