Famous Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Okoro, was over the weekend declared Best Actress of the Year at the 2016 edition of City People Entertainment Awards in Nigeria.
But, the ‘Ghana Must Go’ producer actress and was not present at the Award Ceremony in Lagos to receive her award.
She told in an interview on Friday that she was not Officially Informed or invited to the award ceremony by the organizers.
As stated by Yvonne, she only became aware of her nomination and her successive win through social media after she was tagged.
“I was not officially informed or invited,” she said.
Yvonne’s management also confirmed they did not get any correspondent or official invitation from the organizers telling them about their client’s nomination or victory.
The 2016 version of the City People Entertainment Awards took place on July 24 in Ikeja, Lagos State.
In the edition of this year, various stars of Ghana made the night. Many Ghanaian entertainers represented including Victoria Michaels, Selly Galley, Salma Mumin, Bibi Bright, Stephanie Karikari, Eugene Sarfo-Kantanka, GhKwaku, Cole of the Emperor Consult, Fella Makafui, Samuel Bravoact, Adeyemi Adebayo, among host of others.
