Guinea has confirmed Kanfory Bangoura as the coach of national football team according to the Guinea football federation.
The Guinea Football Federation’s normalization committee has selected Kanfory Mohamed ‘Lappe’ Bangoura as the new national football team coach.
The committee also selected Frenchman Jean-Marc Nobilo as National technical manager.
Bangoura was among many other candidates who were shortlisted for the post of coach including Gernot Rohr, Paul Put and Bernard Simondi.
Nobilo’s task will be to help come-up and implement a Football development policy for Guinea to make them competitive for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations which they are hosting.
Bangoura’s first competitive game is a Nations Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe in September.
Guinea failed to reach in the 2017 finals in Gabon and so his main task will be to lead the team in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
They will play Tunisia, DR Congo and Libya with only the group winners to progress to the finals in Russia.
