MFM FC has potential to have a solid league showing like Leicester City. The club is a freshly promoted club along with Ikorodu United, Niger Tornadoes and Plateau United. MFM FC is playing in the top tier for the first time in its history.
Even though their status is in the top level, the Olukoya Boys left back Julius Emiloju told Goal.com that the goal of the team is to pull off a Leicester City on the League.
This season Leicester City is at the top of the English Premier League after 28 games regardless of battling relegation though out last season.
Emiloju told Goal:
“We have played friendly matches to strengthen us for our debut campaign in the elite division. Hopefully, the warm up playoffs should put us in the right frame of mind when the season eventually gets underway”.
He added “A lot of people have written us off but like Leicester City Football Club of England we want to make names for ourselves. Anyone that devalues MFM FC does that at his own risk”.
The defender thanked the management and administration of MFM FC for the role it played in assisting the Club to the top division for the first time in its history.
“First of all, my appreciation goes to God for leading us right through our General Oversea Dr DK Olukoya, who has always been our pillar and strength.
He added: “The management, coaches, players and fans also played important roles in our promotion to the NPFL (National Pro Fitness League)”.
The MFM FC was one of four clubs supported by the national division for the 2015/2016 Premier League season together with Plateau United, Ikorodu United and Niger Tornadoes.
