Antonio Valencia has taken to social media to reveal his delight at making his first appearance for Manchester United under new manager Jose Mourinho.
The Ecuador international was a half-time substitute as Mourinho’s men secured a 2-0 victory over his former club Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium on Saturday afternoon as they kicked off their pre-season campaign with a win.
Valencia came up against his former club and helped Mourinho’s side seal victory and get the Portuguese coach’s team off to a winning start under his guidance.
And the winger was thrilled to get his first Appearance of the season out of the way against the Latics.
Valencia posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account on Sunday and wrote: “Dreams come true. In this day I fulfilled one of my dreams. We will continue working, this is just beginning.”
United moved quickly to appoint Mourinho as the club’s new manager after opting to sack Louis van Gaal at the end of last season.
