John Terry has told Jose Mourinho to expect a warm reception when the newly-appointed Manchester United boss returns to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea next season.
The Portuguese coach signed a three-year deal with the Red Devils on Friday after days of speculation linking him with the Old Trafford job.
Mourinho was out of work following his sacking by Chelsea back in December after the west London club’s disastrous start to the season.
The former Inter Milan and Real Madrid Boss has now been tasked with steering United back to the top of English football.
And although Chelsea Captain Terry admits that it will be strange for him to face Mourinho’s side next season, he is wishing the former Blues boss well.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Terry said: “It’ll feel very different [facing Mourinho].
“I’ve come up against Jose for various teams before so it will be interesting.
“He’ll get a great reception when he comes back to Stamford Bridge, for sure.
“First and foremost we have to look at ourselves this year and fight for the title.”
