Arsenal, Tottenham monitoring Joe Gomez’s situation at Anfield – report

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur would be prepared to offer Joe Gomez a “route” to London if the Liverpool FC defender leaves Anfield, according to a report in England.

Website 90min is reporting that Gomez is growing frustrated at a lack of first-team opportunities at the Anfield side so far this season.

The same article states the 22-year-old is prepared to leave Liverpool FC to get regular first-team football after recovering from a long-term injury.

According to the same story, there are a number of European clubs who would be open to a loan deal to sign the England star in January.

90min go on to claim that Gomez would prefer to remain in the Premier League, adding that London would be top of his list of destinations.

The media outlet claim that both Arsenal and Tottenham would be prepared to make offers for the England defender.

The story does conclude that Liverpool FC would be reluctant to sell Gomez and the club are in a strong position given the Englishman’s current deal runs until 2024.

Gomez lost his starting spot alongside Virgil van Dijk following his injury at Burnley last year.

Joel Matip has since established himself as one of Jurgen Klopp’s first-choice centre-halves alongside the PFA player of the year.
