Lauren believes Matteo Guendouzi has the potential to blossom into an Arsenal legend.
The 20-year-old was a surprise arrival at the north London side last summer after Arsenal signed Guendouzi in a £7m transfer fee from Ligue 2 outfit Lorient.
Arsenal manager Unai Emery didn’t wait long before placing his trust in the young French midfielder as Guendouzi was ushered into the Gunners first team.
The France international acquitted himself well in the Arsenal team despite his lack of experience.
The Arsenal number 29 started 24 times and made 10 substitute appearances in the English top flight as the Gunners finished in fifth place in the table.
His only goal came in a 3-0 victory over Qarabag in the Europa League group stage back in October.
Former Arsenal defender Lauren believes Guendouzi has the talent and potential to blossom into a Gunners legend at The Emirates.
“Matteo Guendouzi has the potential to grow into an Arsenal legend,” Lauren told bWIN.
“Guendouzi is young, already part of the French national team and his future is very bright.
“Emery will need to invest time and patience in Guendouzi but that will pay off as he develops and learns from the big name players around him at the club.”
Guendouzi made his Premier League debut in Arsenal’s 2-0 loss to Manchester City in their opening Premier League fixture of the season at The Emirates.
He has made three appearances for France Under-21 side but Guendouzi is still waiting for his first call up to the senior team.
Arsenal finished in fifth place in the Premier League table and lost 4-1 to Chelsea FC in the Europa League last term.
