Pedro Rodriguez has insisted that he and his Chelsea FC team-mates are now focused on securing a top-four finish in the Premier League.
The Blues had found themselves under intense pressure in recent weeks after having slipped to an embarrassing 6-0 loss to Manchester City in the Premier League.
The west London side were then beaten by Pep Guardiola’s men in the League Cup final last month to heap further pressure on Maurizio Sarri and his team.
However, Chelsea FC have since bounced back and they have won back to back Premier League games against Tottenham and Fulham to keep alive their top-four hopes.
Indeed, if the Blues win their game in hand, they will move into fourth place in the Premier League table and above Manchester United and Arsenal.
Pedro has now revealed that Chelsea FC’s players held talks about their disastrous form before working to turn things around.
Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, Pedro said: “We said ‘this is enough’. I spoke during the week about the situation [with my team-mates], but now we’re all focusing on reaching the top four.
“It’s the most important thing for us until the end, to try to win every game.
“They’re all finals because it’s so important to get points, try to win every game and if not, it’s going to be so difficult to qualify.”
Asked about his own form, Pedro continued: “It’s probably the best form I’ve been in. Maurizio is very clear with his ideas and that’s good for me because I run, press high and recover the ball.
“I stay close to the target to score goals and help my team – that’s good.
“I speak with him a lot about my role on the pitch and I’m comfortable playing high, and I like it.”
Chelsea FC will take on Dynamo Kiev in the first leg of their Europa League last 16 clash at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night.
The Blues will then play Wolves at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Sunday as they look to keep up their top-four bid.
