Manchester United are scouting Juventus full-back Joao Cancelo as a potential long-term successor for Antonio Valencia, according to a report in England.
The Sun is reporting that the Red Devils have sent scouts to watch the Portuguese full-back perform in the Juve team ahead of a potential move.
The same article states that Manchester United are looking to unearth a worthy replacement for Valencia, who will turn 34 in August.
According to the same story, the 20-time English champions would have to make a big offer to sign Cancelo given that the right-back has four-and-a-half years left to run on his current deal.
Juventus signed the Portugal international in a £35m deal from Valencia last summer after Cancelo spent the 2017-18 season on loan at Inter Milan.
The promising right-back has scored one goal in 23 games for the Serie A champions this season in an encouraging debut campaign in Turin.
Manchester United already have a Portuguese right-back in their squad in the shape of Diogo Dalot, who moved to Old Trafford from FC Porto in a £17m deal last summer.
However, the teenager has only made 12 appearances in all competitions in his first season at Old Trafford.
The summer signing made an assist in Manchester United’s 3-2 win over Southampton last weekend.
