Jose Mourinho wants to bring Chelsea FC star Gary Cahill to Manchester United on loan in January, according to a report in England.
The Daily Express is claiming that Chelsea FC are prepared to allow the 32-year-old to secure a loan move in the January transfer window in order to get regular first-team football.
The same article states that the England international is attracting interest from his former Chelsea FC manager Mourinho, whose Manchester United side have conceded 21 times in 12 games so far this term.
The exclusive report goes on to reveal that Manchester United are one of five clubs interested in the experienced Chelsea FC defender.
Indeed, Southampton, West Ham, Aston Villa and Sheffield Wednesday are all keeping tabs on Cahill with view to a potential move in the upcoming transfer window.
According to the same story, Chelsea FC are willing to sanction a loan move in January and the Blues will allow a permanent transfer at the end of the 2018-19 season.
The Daily Express adds that West Ham attempted to sign Cahill in the summer but the Hammers were knocked back.
Cahill has only played 21 minutes of Premier League football this season after a 21-minute cameo in a goalless draw with Chelsea FC back in September.
The former Bolton Wanderers defender would certainly bring experience to Manchester United’s defence but his declining pace could be problematic.
