Paul Merson reveals his prediction for Leicester v Liverpool FC

Paul Merson has said Liverpool FC’s front three will be too formidable for a Jamie Vardy-less Leicester when the two go head-to-head in Saturday’s early kick-off.

Liverpool FC sit joint-top of the table with three wins from three and are yet to concede a goal this season.

Their opponents, Leicester, are missing star-striker Jamie Vardy, and Paul Merson does not think that they will have enough to stop Mo Salah, Sadio Mané and Roberto Firmino.

He told Sky Sports: “I can’t see anything but a Liverpool win.

“There’s no [Jamie] Vardy for Leicester, who had a great result at Southampton, but this Liverpool team has so much going forward.

“You look at that front three Manchester City had at Wolves on Saturday – Liverpool beat them last season (4-3 at Anfield in January).”

Liverpool FC finished 25 points behind eventual champions Manchester City last season, and their attempt to close that gap has seen them spend £163.45m on Alisson Becker, Naby Keïta, Fabinho and Xherdan Shaqiri.

They already have their noses ahead of their title rivals after the Cityzens dropped points at newly promoted Wolves last weekend, and they will look to consolidate that advantage on Saturday.

Leicester will be without Jamie Vardy, who retired from England duty early this week, and who scored a memorable goal against Liverpool FC in the Foxes’ way to winning the Premier League title in 2016.
