Gary Lineker responds to Arsenal’s 3-1 win over West Ham United

Gary Lineker has taken to social media to react to Arsenal’s 3-1 victory over West Ham United as the Gunners notched up their first win under Unai Emery at The Emirates.

The north London side headed into the game on the back of consecutive defeats by Manchester City and West Ham United.

They fell behind on Saturday afternoon when Marko Arnautovic handed the visitors the lead in the 25th minute.

But the Gunners soon hit back and equalised through Nacho Monreal just five minutes later.

Alexandre Lacazette’s volley across the area then deflected in off Issa Diop in the 70th minute to put the Gunners ahead.

And Danny Welbeck made the points secure when he netted in the 92nd minute to confirm Arsenal’s first Premier League win of the season under Emery.

Lineker took to social media after the game to offer his reaction and claim that the scoreline could have been a very different one.

Lineker wrote on Twitter: “Arsenal win their first game under Emery 3-1. It could quite easily have been 6-6.”

Next up for Arsenal is their trip to Cardiff City next weekend as they look to make it back to back wins in the top flight under their new manager.

The victory on Saturday afternoon left them in 11th place in the Premier League table.
