Manchester United are still far away from matching Tottenham Hotspur’s valuation of Toby Alderweireld, according to reports in the British media.
Sky Sports is reporting that the Red Devils are still keen on a deal to bring the 29-year-old Belgian defender to Old Trafford this summer as Jose Mourinho looks to strengthen his squad ahead of next season.
According to the same report, Tottenham Hotspur value Alderweireld at around £50m.
However, Manchester United do not value Alderweireld at the same amount for a player with a year left on his current contract.
The same report says that Manchester United remain interested in signing the defender but they will be waiting for Tottenham to lower their asking price to do so.
The story also claims that Anthony Martial is unlikely to end up at Spurs despite having informed Mourinho that he wants to leave Manchester United this summer.
Manchester United are believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as they look to assemble a squad capable of winning the Premier League next season.
The Red Devils have so far signed Fred, Diogo Dalot and Lee Grant as Mourinho gears his team up for the new campaign.
