Chelsea FC have made an offer to sign Juventus defender Daniele Rugani, according to a report in Italy.
Italian media website Calciomercato is reporting that the Serie A giants have received an approach from the West London side for their promising defender Rugani.
The same article states that Chelsea FC have submitted a bid of €30m to sign the Italy international in a bid to strengthen their defensive options ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
According to the same story, the Blues will face competition from their London derby rivals Arsenal for the 22-year-old signature in the current transfer market.
However, the Italian media outlet claim that the west London side are still €10m short of Juventus’ valuation of Rugani.
Chelsea FC are looking to improve their squad following a disappointing fifth-placed finish in the Premier League last season to miss out on a Champions League spot.
The Blues did end the campaign on a positive note under Conte after a 1-0 win against bitter rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley last month.
Chelsea FC won the Premier League title in Conte’s first season in charge but doubts remain about his future at Stamford Bridge.
