Chelsea FC need to sell Willian this summer to maximise his value, Shaka Hislop has claimed.
The Blues forward has been linked with a potential exit this summer after he struggled to hold down a regular starting spot in Chelsea FC team in the current campaign.
Willian was in and out of the Chelsea FC team in their title-winning campaign after the Blues won the Premier League crown in Antonio Conte’s first season in charge of the west London side.
The South American forward was left out of the Blue starting line up for Chelsea FC’s 1-0 loss to Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley last term.
Willian has been linked with a controversial switch to Manchester United in the current transfer window to reunite with former Chelsea FC boss Jose Mourinho.
The Blues could be reluctant to sell Willian to the Red Devils given the criticism Chelsea FC faced after Nemanja Matic completed a £40m move to Old Trafford last summer.
Former West Ham goalkeeper Hislop believes Chelsea FC would be wise to cash in on Willian this summer to get a big transfer fee.
“He is an outstanding player,” Hislop told ESPN FC.
“He isn’t happy with how he has been used.
“If Chelsea want best value for him, they need to sell now. We still don’t know who will be in charge and maybe things change in that regard.”
Chelsea FC finished in sixth spot in the Premier League last term.
