Gary Lineker took to social media once again to salute Mohamed Salah after the Egypt international inspired Liverpool FC to a 5-2 win over AS Roma in the Champions League semi-final first leg at Anfield on Tuesday night.
The 25-year-old has been one of European football’s standout performers this season and he was once again in fine form on Tuesday night.
Salah handed Liverpool FC the lead in the 35th minute with a brilliant finish into the top corner.
The attacker then made it 2-0 with a superb dinked finish on the stroke of half-time.
Salah then turned provider in the second half when he set up Sadio Mane for Liverpool FC’s third in the 56th minute.
And the former AS Roma man then set up Roberto Firmino for the home side’s fourth in what was a brilliant display at Anfield.
Firmino then headed home a corner to make it 5-0 and cap an amazing win for the home side, before Edin Dzeko pulled a goal back for Roma in the 81st minute.
And Diego Perotti netted a penalty late on to dampen the Liverpool FC celebrations.
England legend Lineker was clearly impressed with what he was seeing from Salah and he took to social media to pay tribute to him during the game.
Lineker wrote on Twitter: “Oh Mo. Oh My. The Egyptian King rules again. Sensational from @mosalah.”
Liverpool FC will take on AS Roma in the return leg in the Italian capital next Wednesday night as they look to secure their place in next month’s final in Kiev.
