Man City ahead of Liverpool FC in race to sign quality 26-year-old – report

Manchester City have moved ahead of Liverpool FC in the race to sign Jorginho from Napoli this summer, according to reports in the British media.

The Daily Mail is reporting that the Citizens have moved into pole position in the Race for the 26-year-old midfielder as Pep Guardiola looks to add to his squad Ahead of next season.

The same report says that up until now, Liverpool FC had been considered as the favourites to sign the Brazil-born Italy international, but they have now been overtaken by Manchester City.

That’s because the Citizens are believed to have held two rounds of productive talks with Jorginho’s representative Joao Santos in recent weeks as they look to try and lure him to The Etihad.

According to the same story, Napoli are keen to keep hold of the midfielder and have offered him a new contract, and Manchester United have also expressed an interest in the player.

The midfielder has been in good form for the Italian side this season, scoring two goals and making four assists in 29 Serie A games for Napoli this term.

Liverpool FC are bound to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks as Jurgen Klopp looks to build a team capable of winning the Premier League next term.
