Frank Lampard heaped praise on Eden Hazard after the Belgian playmaker helped to inspire Chelsea FC to a 2-0 win over Southampton in the FA Cup semi-finals on Sunday.
Hazard was voted as the man of the match as the Blues secured a dominant victory over the Saints to set up a final clash against Manchester United next month.
After a goalless first half at Wembley, Olivier Giroud gave Antonio Conte’s men the lead when he danced through the Southampton defence and poked home from close range.
And substitute Alvaro Morata then made the victory secure when he headed home Cesar Azpilicueta’s cross just moments after coming off the bench to replace Giroud.
Hazard was at his imperious best as he helped the west London side to secure their place in the final against Manchester United.
And Chelsea FC legend Lampard was very impressed by Hazard’s performance as he helped the Blues to book their place in the showpiece event next month.
Speaking during BT Sport‘s coverage of the game, Lampard said: “With Eden Hazard, sometimes you can tell in the first five minutes of the game by his body language and his direction what kind of mood he’s in.
“We saw that instantly. When he’s like this, he plays his own game differently to everyone else on the pitch. He’s quicker and he was the catalyst.”
Chelsea FC will now switch their attentions back towards Premier League affairs as they look to try and catch Tottenham in the race for Champions League qualification.
