Arsenal among clubs keen on signing 23-year-old midfielder – report

Arsenal and Watford are among the clubs interested in signing Bryan Cristante in the summer transfer window, according to reports in Italy.

Italian news outlet Tuttosport, as quoted by the Watford Observer, is claiming that the Gunners and the Hornets are both pondering moves to try and sign the 23-year-old attacking midfielder this summer.

The same report says that Watford, Liverpool, Arsenal and West Ham United are all keeping tabs on the Italian, who is on loan to Atalanta from Portuguese side Benfica this season.

According to the same story, Atalanta could make Cristante’s loan move permanent at the end of the season and then look to immediately cash in on the attacking midfielder.

He has been in fine form for Atalanta so far this season, scoring seven goals in 24 Serie A games and also netting three times in the Europa League for the Italian side.

Arsenal are bound to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks and months as the Gunners consider revamping their squad following what looks set to be a season of disappointment.

The Gunners are currently in sixth place in the Premier League table and it looks increasingly likely that they will miss out on a top-four finish once again this season.
