Arsenal shareholder reacts to Xhaka’s display in 1-0 loss to Tottenham

Piers Morgan pointed the finger at Granit Xhaka after Arsenal suffered a disappointing 1-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League at Wembley on Saturday afternoon.

The Gunners slipped to a disappointing defeat by their bitter local rivals as they suffered yet another blow to their hopes of finishing in the top four.

After a goalless first half at Wembley, Harry Kane headed the home side into the lead in the 49th minute when he expertly guided his effort part Petr Cech and into the bottom corner.

Arsenal had defended solidly in the first half but their performance after the break was not up to par.

And Arsenal Shareholder Morgan, who said on Twitter back in 2015 that he owns a £160,000 stake in the club, was clearly not impressed by Switzerland midfielder Xhaka’s performance in north London.

Morgan wrote on Twitter during the second half: “Xhaka must be the biggest waste of £35m in football history.”

Despite Xhaka splitting opinion amongst Arsenal fans, Arsene Wenger is clearly a keen admirer of the midfielder judging by the fact that the Swiss has started every single one of the Gunners’ Premier League games so far this season.

Arsenal are now facing a serious uphill struggle in trying to get back into the top four this season, with the Gunners seven points behind their bitter local rivals in the table.
