Wenger drops hint about Aubameyang ahead of Tottenham v Arsenal

Arsene Wenger has hinted that he is planning to play both Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan for Arsenal’s clash with Tottenham on Saturday.

The pair both started their first game together for the first time for the Gunners last weekend when they helped the North London side claim a 5-1 victory over Everton at The Emirates.

Mkhitaryan set up his former Borussia Dortmund team-mate for his first goal for the north London side as the Gunners ran riot in front of their home fans.

Arsenal are now preparing for their crunch north London derby showdown against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley this weekend.

And it seems that Wenger will have no issues about starting the pair together once again despite them only having signed for Arsenal in the last two weeks.

Speaking at his news conference at London Colney on Thursday morning, Wenger said: “I think we are in the middle of the season, and they are top-quality players so why should they not repeat that type of performance?”

Arsenal head into the game looking to get their top-four bid back on track.

The Gunners are currently sixth in the table but know that a victory over the Lilywhites would move them to within just one point of their bitter local rivals.

Arsenal finished in fifth place in the table last season as they missed out on Champions League qualification.
