Michael Owen is backing Tottenham Hotspur to beat Arsenal in a high-scoring north London derby at The Emirates on Saturday afternoon.
The Gunners were 2-0 winners against Spurs at The Emirates back in October to produce one of their best performances of an otherwise disappointing 2017-18 season so far.
Arsenal bounced back from a 3-1 loss at Swansea City at the end of January to beat Everton 5-1 at the Emirates Stadium last weekend following the addition of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
Tottenham are in an excellent run of form after a 2-0 win against Manchester United at Wembley before Harry Kane’s last-gasp penalty secured a 2-2 draw with Liverpool FC at Anfield last weekend.
England international Kane has scored 22 goals in 25 appearances in the Premier League this season to head the top-flight’s goal-scoring charts.
Former Liverpool FC striker Owen is backing Tottenham to ease to a comfortable win against Arsenal at Wembley in the North London Derby in Saturday’s early kick-off.
“Spurs lost the reverse fixture 2-0 at the Emirates earlier in the season but I think they can get revenge for that loss against an Arsenal side who still have to prove they can be as effective on the road as they are at home,” Owen told BetVictor.
“Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang made a promising home debut against Everton last weekend and has scored four goals in his four previous games against Spurs when with Borussia Dortmund.
“Premier League leading scorer Harry Kane has six in six against the Gunners and I think it will be the hosts who keep the points in what promises to be an entertaining clash with plenty of opportunities at both ends.”
Tottenham are in fifth place in the Premier League table and a point adrift of Chelsea FC, who occupy the final Champions League spot.
Arsenal trail Spurs by three points as Arsene Wenger’s side look to secure a return to Europe’s premier club competition.
