Chelsea set to beat Man United to 20-year-old Bundesliga attacker – report

Chelsea are favourites to beat Arsenal and Manchester United to the signing of Leon Bailey, according to reports.

German media outlet Kicker, as reported by The Sun, is reporting that the Bayer Leverkusen forward is attracting interest from a number of Premier League clubs.

The same article is claiming that the 20-year-old Jamaica winger has expressed a desire to move to the defending Premier League champions in spite of the turmoil at Stamford Bridge in 2018 so far.

According to the same story, Bailey is tied down to Leverkusen until 2022 which means Chelsea FC would have to cough up a significant transfer fee to secure his signature.

Indeed, the German club value the Jamaican attacker at a staggering £100m despite his relative inexperience at the top level of European football.

Bailey has scored eight goals and has made five assists in 18 games in the German top flight this season to help Leverkusen challenge Bayern Munich for the title.

The Bundesliga outfit signed Bailey in a €20m deal from Belgian side Genk in the 2017 summer transfer window.

Chelsea FC won the Premier League title with two games to spare last season in Antonio Conte’s first season in charge at Stamford Bridge.
