Reported Liverpool FC target Alisson is the “the Lionel Messi of goalkeepers” and will cost “far more than €50m”, according former Roma coach Roberto Negrisolo.
The Reds’ goalkeeping situation has been making the headlines this season due to the fact that neither Loris Karius nor Simon Mignolet have been able to confidently nail down the number one spot at Anfield.
Neither of Liverpool FC’s current options between the posts have been particularly convincing this term and it has prompted speculation that the Reds could dip into the transfer market to try and find a new number one in the summer.
Roma goalkeeper Alisson has been touted as a possible target for the Merseyside outfit as the summer transfer window starts to draw ever nearer.
However, former Roma goalkeeping Coach Roberto Negrisolo has told the Reds that they will have to shell out at least £45m if they want to sign the Brazilian in the summer.
Negrisolo told Il Romanista, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo: “Is Alisson worth €50million (£45m)? Don’t be silly, he’s worth far more than that.
“I don’t think many people have realised who Alisson is. This guy is a phenomenon. He is the number one of number ones. He is the Messi of goalkeepers, because he has the same mentality as Messi. He is a goalkeeper who can mark an era.
“There is absolutely no comparison with Gianluigi Donnarumma, because Alisson is extraordinary.
“The way he behaves in the goal, he reminds me of Dino Zoff. I’d also compare him to Michel Preud-Homme, who had the class of someone born to be a goalkeeper.”
Meanwhile, Liverpool FC are currently preparing for their Premier League trip to Southampton on Sunday afternoon.
The Reds played out a thrilling 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield last weekend to leave them in third place in the Premier League table.
