Chris Sutton admits he can understand why Antonio Conte has grown frustrated at Chelsea FC.
The Blues suffered a shock 4-1 loss to London rivals Watford at Vicarage Road on Monday night to heap pressure on Conte following a disastrous start to 2018.
Chelsea FC have lost their last two Premier League games to leave the west London side in fourth place in the table and 20 points behind leaders Manchester City.
Indeed, Bournemouth managed to win at Chelsea FC for the first time in the Premier League after Eddie Howe’s men eased to a surprise 3-0 win over the title holders.
Conte hasn’t been afraid to criticise the Chelsea FC board for a lack of support in the transfer market after missing out on some of his top targets.
The Blues are facing a battle to finish in the Premier League’s top four this season given fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur are a mere point adrift of Chelsea FC.
Former Blues striker Sutton expressed his sympathy for Conte following a dismal run of form for the defending champions.
“He has sent his message to the owner through the media,” Sutton told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“He hasn’t been backed.
“I can understand his frustration. They are still not in a bad position in the league.”
Chelsea FC won the Premier League title in two of the past three seasons under Jose Mourinho and then Conte.
The Blues signed Ross Barkley, Emerson Palmieri and Olivier Giroud in the January transfer window.
