Chris Sutton sends Liverpool FC transfer warning about 25-year-old attacker

Chris Sutton has warned Liverpool FC that it is imperative Mohamed Salah remains at Anfield.

The Egypt international has been a sensation in the Premier League this season following his £39m move to Liverpool FC from Serie A giants AS Roma back in the summer transfer window.

Salah scored twice in the Merseyside outfit’s 2-2 draw with top-six rivals Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield last weekend to take his tally to 21 goals in the Premier League this term.

The summer signing has reached 20 Premier League goals in a Liverpool FC shirt faster than some of the club’s prolific goal-scorers such as Michael Owen, Robbie Fowler and Fernando Torres.

There have been murmurings of potential interest from La Liga giants Real Madrid ahead of the summer transfer window given Salah’s incredible form for the 18-time English champions.

Liverpool FC sold Philippe Coutinho in a £142m deal to La Liga giants Barcelona in January after the Reds denied the number 10 a move to Camp Nou last summer.

Former Chelsea FC striker Sutton warned Liverpool FC can’t afford to lose Salah given his incredible goal record.

Asked whether the key for Liverpool FC is keeping Salah now, Sutton told BBC Radio 5 Live:
“Of course it is [about keeping Salah]. They lost Coutinho.”

Liverpool FC are in third place in the Premier League table and two points ahead of Tottenham in fifth spot.
