Thierry Henry is backing Olivier Giroud to be a success at Chelsea FC after completing his transfer to Stamford Bridge from Arsenal on deadline day.
The French striker was sold by the Gunners to their Premier League rivals after the north Londoners secured the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund.
Giroud will now be hoping to help Chelsea FC end the season in a positive manner after having signed on an initial 18-month contract with the west London side.
Henry is a big fan of the 31-year-old forward and he admits that he was sad to see the striker leave Arsenal.
However, the Gunners legend is also tipping Giroud to be a big hit at Stamford Bridge following his move to west London.
Speaking to Sky Sports News on Wednesday, Henry said: “The way he likes to play suits very much the way Antonio Conte likes to play. He likes a target man with a brain that can get into the box to receive the crosses of the wing-backs.
“I wish him all the very best but we lost at Arsenal a supporting cast, as I like to call them, of the guys coming off the bench.
“It will be weird seeing him with the blue shirt on, even though it is like the French kit.
“I was used to seeing the famous red and white of Arsenal on him. Everybody could see it was going to happen.”
Giroud could make his Premier League debut for Chelsea FC when the Blues travel to Watford in the top flight on Monday night.
The striker watched on in the stands as the Blues slumped to a shock 3-0 loss to Bournemouth in front of their home fans at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.
That result left Chelsea FC in fourth place in the Premier League table.
