Cristiano Ronaldo could make a sensational return to the Premier League by signing for Chelsea FC this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Sun is reporting that the Portugal international would be open to joining Chelsea FC at the end of the season as his long-term future in Spain remains a source of uncertainty.
The same report says that Alexis Sanchez’s move to Manchester United from Arsenal had ended Ronaldo’s hopes of returning to Old Trafford.
The same story says Ronaldo is “unhappy” with life in Spain after being taken to court over allegations he has failed to pay tax of £13.1m.
Ronaldo has developed into one of world football’s greatest all-time players since his move to Real Madrid from Manchester United back in the summer of 2009.
Meanwhile, Chelsea FC are currently preparing for their home Premier League clash against Bournemouth in front of their home fans on Wednesday night.
It remains to be seen whether the Blues will be able to bring in any more signings before the close of the transfer window at 11pm on Wednesday.
