Paul Ince has told Manchester United to consider buying a new striker in the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils have already been busy in January and they wrapped up a deal to sign Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal last week, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan heading in the other direction.
Manchester United are bound to be linked with a host of new players in the coming months as Jose Mourinho starts to think about bolstering his squad ahead of next season.
Despite the Red Devils having tied up a deal for Sanchez, Ince believes that Manchester United should look to target a new forward in the summer, especially with Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s long-term future unclear.
Ince told the Manchester Evening News: “This one might shock people, but I reckon Mourinho will be on the lookout for another striker.
“A different kind of striker to Lukaku, more of a fox in the box.
“Obviously, it looks as though Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be on his way out unfortunately, so he could do with having a back-up option there. Someone who is lethal in front of goal is needed at the club, an out and out goal-scorer.”
Manchester United booked their place in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Friday night with a 4-0 victory over Yeovil Town.
The Red Devils will return to Premier League action on Wednesday night with a crunch clash against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley.
Manchester United are currently in second place in the Premier League table as they try and catch Manchester City at the top.
The Red Devils are 12 points behind Pep Guardiola’s men with less than half of the season remaining.
