Ian Wright has admitted that he feels sorry for Arsenal summer signing Alexandre Lacazette.
The France international moved to the north London club in a £52m deal from Ligue 1 side Lyon in the summer transfer window.
Their club record signing scored on his Premier League debut with a second-minute goal in a 4-3 win over Leicester City.
However, the Gunners striker has struggled to find consistency despite a return of eight goals in 20 top-flight appearances.
Lacazette hasn’t scored a Premier League goal since a 3-1 loss to title rivals Manchester United at The Emirates back in December.
Former Arsenal striker Wright doesn’t believe Lacazette’s new team-mates have helped him settle into the Premier League.
“I feel sorry for Lacazette. He is trying to make moves. They don’t pass the ball to him,” Wright told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“He is a goal-scorer and they don’t put the ball in areas where he can score goals.”
Lacazette has only netted eight times in 1,617 minutes of Premier League action in the current campaign.
The Gunners finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last term to miss out on a Champions League spot.
Arsenal signed Lacazette and Schalke 04 defender Sead Kolasinac in the summer transfer window.
