Jose Mourinho needs to sign one attacking player in the January transfer window to complete his Manchester United team, according to Mark Lawrenson.
The Red Devils are bound to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks now that the January transfer window is in full swing.
Manchester United are thought to be keen to bolster their squad this month after finding themselves playing catch-up to Manchester City in the race for the title.
The Red Devils were one of the busiest Premier League clubs last summer as they concluded deals for Victor Lindelof, Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic.
However, they find themselves in second place in the Premier League table and 15 points behind leaders Manchester City after 22 games so far this season.
But despite some of the criticism that has been levelled at the Red Devils this season, former Liverpool FC star Lawrenson feels that Manchester United are not far away from having a brilliant squad.
Speaking to Irish radio station Newstalk, Lawrenson said: “He [Mourinho] is one attacking player short [of having a good team].”
Manchester United are currently gearing up for their FA Cup clash against Derby County at Old Trafford in the third round on Friday night.
The Red Devils will then return to Premier League action with a home game against Stoke City.
