Arsene Wenger refused to give a timeline for any potential Arsenal signings in the January transfer window.
The Gunners have endured a mixed start to the 2017-18 Premier League season to leave themselves a battle to secure a top-four spot and a return to the Champions League.
While there is little doubt that Arsenal need some new signings in the current transfer window, the Gunners are facing speculation about their prized assets.
Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil have less than six months remaining on their current Arsenal deals to leave the FA Cup holders facing the prospect of losing the duo in January or at the end of the season.
The Chile star has been linked with a move to Premier League leaders Manchester City, while Jose Mourinho is rumoured to be interested in bringing Ozil to Manchester United.
Wenger has been linked with Palace winger Wilfried Zaha to compensate for the departure of the two key attackers, while Monaco forward Thomas Lemar is another name being linked with the Gunners.
Asked about when Arsenal supporters can expect some new additions at the Emirates Stadium in the January transfer window, Wenger told a news conference on Tuesday: “‘When’ is very difficult to say, because we are out there and look to do some things, but when we will do is very difficult to say because it is not only on us.”
Arsenal finished in fifth spot in the Premier League table last term.
