Philippe Coutinho is “determined” to try and sign for Barcelona from Liverpool FC in the January transfer window, according to reports in the British media.
The Guardian is reporting that the Brazilian playmaker still has his heart set on a move to Camp Nou after having been so heavily linked with a switch to the Spanish giants last summer.
However, the same report says that Liverpool FC are set to demand a huge transfer fee of as much as £130m for Coutinho.
The story says that, as has been widely reported, Liverpool FC rejected three bids from Barcelona last summer as they held firm and opted to keep the 25-year-old attacker.
The report claims that a move for Coutinho to leave Liverpool FC in the summer could be agreed this month – but the player himself would prefer to secure an exit in January.
However, the article is also clear to state that Liverpool FC are yet to officially receive a fresh bid from Barcelona for Coutinho, who is under contract at Anfield until 2022 and has no release clause.
Meanwhile, Liverpool FC are currently preparing for their crunch derby clash with Everton in the third round of the FA Cup on Friday night.
