Thierry Henry raved about Jesse Lingard after the attacker’s fine display in Manchester United’s 2-0 win at Everton on Monday night.
The England international has been in fine form for Jose Mourinho’s men in recent weeks and has clearly been winning the trust of the Portuguese coach.
Lingard has scored seven goals and made four assists in the Premier League for Mourinho’s side this season and has earned plenty of praise for his top displays for the Red Devils.
It appeared that the 25-year-old had initially struggled to win over Mourinho at Old Trafford but Lingard has been holding down a regular spot in the first team in recent weeks.
And former Arsenal star Henry has been extremely impressed by what he has seen from Lingard for the Red Devils in recent weeks after he netted Manchester United’s second goal at Everton.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Henry said: “When you’re on a run like that, usually you grab the momentum that you have.
“You can see [with his goal] there was no hesitation about what he was about to do. What a finish.
“Lingard was positive in the whole game and wanted to go forward. In the first half he had a go with his left foot, which went really wide. But this one… take a bow son.”
Lingard will be hoping to feature for Manchester United when the Red Devils return to FA Cup action on Friday night with a home clash against Derby County at Old Trafford in the third round.
Mourinho’s men are currently second in the Premier League as they look to keep pace with runaway leaders Manchester City.
